Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer to lead high-reliability digital power conversion and electric drive systems, spanning architecture, design, verification, and validation of Thermal Management Systems. The role collaborates across hardware, test, and manufacturing teams to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.

The position can be remote or on-site in St. George, Utah, with up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
15+ years of electrical and systems engineering experience in power electronics and aerospace.
Proven experience leading design, verification, and validation of power conversion hardware and control electronics.
Experience with high-voltage systems and insulation coordination.
Ability to work across cross-functional teams and manage scope, schedule, and risk.

Responsibilities

Own system-level requirements flow-down for digital power conversion hardware, ensuring traceability.
Document and communicate design decisions, analyses, and test outcomes through formal reports and technical reviews.
Lead architecture and detailed design of digital power conversion, including DC/DC stages, gate drives, protection circuits, sensing chains, and control electronics.
Plan and execute verification and validation of digital power conversion hardware and systems, including lab setup and testing.
Define and validate insulation coordination and HV design rules for converters and drive systems.
Design and review PCBs and schematics for power stages, gate drivers, control boards, and sensing modules.
Lead high-voltage testing and qualification activities, including partial discharge tests and insulation tests.
Work with AI&T to develop and improve automated test benches and lab infrastructure for digital power testing.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to early career engineers in power converter design and system integration.
Contribute to proposals, trade studies, and technology roadmaps for TMS control systems.
