Job summary

Oxy is seeking a QA/QC Electrical Technician to support safe, reliable electrical installations, repairs, maintenance, and capital projects. The role performs inspections, verifies conformance with drawings, specifications, and codes, and ensures findings are communicated and resolved.

Strong electrical knowledge and safety judgment are essential for success in this site-based role. The successful candidate will collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, HSE, and third-party

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
10+ years of industrial electrical experience.
Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA and related standards.
Ability to read electrical drawings and one-line diagrams.
Willingness to travel to field locations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform field QA/QC inspections of electrical installations and maintenance work.
Verify conformity to drawings, specifications and applicable codes.
Inspect equipment such as switchgear, panels, transformers, and wiring systems.
Review contractor plans, test plans, and quality documentation.
Witness electrical testing and document results.
Identify nonconforming work and track punch-list items to closure.
Maintain inspection records, photos, checklists, and reports.
Support pre-job planning and risk assessments.
Contribute to QA/QC procedures and standards.
Ensure safe-work practices and lockout/tagout compliance.
