Job summary

Slifco Electric, LLC is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex electrical projects from bidding through closeout in Michigan. You will manage budgets, timelines, and client relationships while mentoring 1–2 junior PMs to ensure project success.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of electrical project management experience on large-scale projects and a proven ability to deliver on time and within budget. Strong communication and collaboration across trades are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in electrical project management and estimating.
• Experience managing large-scale projects ($30M–$200M).
• Leadership experience mentoring junior project managers or teams.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and estimating software like Accu-Bid and McCormick.
• Experience preparing estimates over $1M.
• Design-build experience is a plus.
• Background in Institutional, Automotive, or Heavy Industrial electrical projects is a must.
• Strong relationship-building with clients, vendors, and teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead bidding process, including pre-bid meetings and final proposals.
• Crunch numbers and assemble estimates: labor, materials, subcontractors, and all costs.
• Negotiate contracts and lock in final scopes.
• Be the go-to person for clients, general contractors, and your project team.
• Mentor and oversee 1–2 junior PMs.
• Keep everyone on track: schedules, milestones, progress reports, and status updates.
• Monitor budgets, forecast costs, and keep projects profitable.
• Coordinate with other trades, superintendents, foremen, and safety teams.
• Handle all project paperwork: submittals, contracts, POs, and revisions.
• Communicate delays, scope changes, or cost impacts and propose solutions.

Slifco Electric is a premier electrical contracting firm serving the Automotive, Heavy Industrial, and Mission Critical sectors. We specialize in both ground-up construction and major renovations, managing electrical packages ranging from small service work to multi-million-dollar installations.

The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager who can take the reins on complex projects, from bidding and preconstruction to construction and closeout. You’ll also mentor 1–2 junior project managers, making sure the whole team succeeds. Think of it as leading the charge, keeping projects on time, under budget, and done right - while building strong client relationships and having fun doing it!

What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years in electrical project management and estimating.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience preparing estimates over $1M.
• Design-build experience is a plus.
• Background in Institutional, Automotive, or Heavy Industrial electrical projects is a must.
• Strong relationship-building skills with clients, vendors, and teams.
