Job summary
Actalent is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in Houston, TX, a hybrid role combining 3 days on-site and 2 days remote. You will lead FEED for microgrid and distributed energy projects, shaping technical decisions from inception to commissioning.
The ideal candidate has 15+ years in electrical engineering, strong power distribution knowledge, and proficiency with ETAP/SKM/EasyPower. PE license is preferred, with cross-functional collaboration across disciplines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- 15+ years of combined electrical engineering and project engineering experience.
- Experience leading FEED for distributed generation, microgrids, and critical power.
- Proficiency with ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, or similar software.
- Strong knowledge of NEC, ANSI, NEMA, and IEEE standards.
- Experience from conceptual design through commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Lead FEED and conceptual engineering activities for distributed generation, microgrid, and critical power projects.
- Develop electrical scopes, design criteria, and basis-of-design documentation.
- Drive engineering decisions on topology, redundancy, protection, and distribution architectures.
- Provide construction support, commissioning guidance, and mentoring to the team.
