Job summary

Corning is seeking a Staff Electrical Systems Engineer based in Corning, NY (preferred) or Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on the design, analysis, and implementation of industrial electrical power systems for major facility expansions and new equipment installations.

You will lead power-system design reviews, support troubleshooting, and drive project execution from scoping through commissioning and turnover. Relocation assistance is available with up to 50% travel in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of relevant electrical power engineering experience.
• Experience designing and analyzing industrial electrical power systems and equipment.
• Strong knowledge of medium- and low-voltage power systems.
• Experience conducting short-circuit, protection and coordination, arc flash, and reliability studies.
• Ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, reliable, and cost-effective electrical power systems for facility expansions and upgrades.
• Participate in all project phases including design, fabrication, testing, installation and turnover.
• Manage electrical engineering scope of process improvements and power reliability projects.
• Define electrical power projects including cost models, resource plans, timelines, and technical requirements.
• Support design and implementation of medium- and low-voltage distribution systems.
• Conduct short-circuit, protection/coordination, arc flash, and reliability studies.
• Lead or support failure analysis and root-cause investigations of electrical issues.
• Collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, consultants, and vendors for technical decisions.
