Job summary

LRS Federal is seeking a licensed Electrical PE with 15+ years of federal and defense project experience to join our corporate engineering team. This is a hands-on senior role, actively performing electrical design work and leading complex packages for DoD, DOE, and federal agencies.

The successful candidate will perform critical calculations, coordinate with DoD components, and ensure designs meet UFC, NEC, NFPA standards while mentoring mid-level and junior designers.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in electrical engineering (with reciprocity as needed).
• Minimum of 15 years of progressive Federal/DoD infrastructure experience.
• Proven track record of performing physical electrical design work (calculations, single-line diagrams, layouts, specs).
• Deep knowledge of UFC, NEC, NFPA standards and federal sustainability mandates.

Responsibilities

• Personally execute and oversee electrical design packages (Concept through 100%/Issued for Construction) for federal facilities.
• Perform and seal critical engineering calculations (short-circuit, coordination, arc flash studies, voltage drop).
• Lead Federal Design-Build/DBB proposals and contracts as the technical authority.
• Provide QA/QC reviews and mentor junior engineers and designers.
• Interface with DoD components and civil agencies during design reviews.
