Teledyne Technologies Incorporated seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Electrical Systems in Massachusetts to drive the transition of new products into production and resolve manufacturing issues.

You will partner with Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Operations to improve design for manufacturability and ensure production readiness across infrared and electro‑mechanical products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is strongly preferred; other engineering disciplines considered with relevant experience.
  • 6–8+ years in electrical/electro‑mechanical manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with NPI, design release, production transfer and full‑rate manufacturing.
  • Strong troubleshooting of electrical and electro‑mechanical products in manufacturing.
  • Experience with DFM/DFA, RCA and corrective action implementation.
  • Experience with ECOs, manufacturing documentation and process development.
  • Experience with PCBAs, electrical assemblies, wiring harnesses, test systems, or related technologies.
  • Experience with NPI programs and infrared technology is preferred.
  • Lean, Six Sigma or similar manufacturing improvement experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, project management and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Solve complex design and manufacturing problems with engineering support as required.
  • Take ownership of assigned products and manufacturing processes and provide technical direction to Technicians and production personnel.
  • Work hands‑on with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve electrical, electro‑mechanical, test, and system‑level issues.
  • Analyze design challenges during New Product Introduction (NPI) and develop manufacturing methods, operations sequences, tooling, and production processes for new and existing infrared and electro‑mechanical products.
  • Review, comment on, and approve new product designs to ensure DFM and DFA principles are incorporated early in development.
  • Partner with Electrical Engineering to resolve design, integration, test, and manufacturability issues.
  • Support successful transition of products from Design Engineering to Production while ensuring production readiness and manufacturability objectives are achieved.
  • Provide daily production floor support for complex electrical and electro‑mechanical assemblies, including PCBAs, wiring harnesses, test systems, sensors.
  • Lead root cause investigations, failure analysis and corrective actions to improve quality and yield.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve manufacturing, assembly, component, and documentation issues.
  • Participate in ECO reviews and approvals for supported products.
  • Liaison with Engineering to stay updated on emerging technologies and processes.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance manufacturability, quality and cost efficiency.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions and production support records.
  • Evaluate manufacturing costs, process capabilities, labor estimates and time standards.
  • Support Lean, CI and yield improvement initiatives across manufacturing.
