Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Shift Operations Technician to monitor and respond to field electrical conditions in a central control environment. You will inspect and maintain electrical equipment in cleanrooms, work on VFDs, UPSs, generators, breakers, and related systems, and escalate issues with safety and quality practices.

The role requires substantial hands-on electrical experience, NEC knowledge, and CMMS proficiency, with opportunities to contribute to site safety

Qualifications

• 7+ years working with electrical systems, motor control circuits or automation equipment.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license strongly preferred.
• NEC: Proficiency in NEC through maintenance or electrical projects.
• CMMS: Ability to log repairs, manage parts inventory, and schedule preventive maintenance.
• Hands-on electrical skills with wiring, relay controls, and motor control centers.
• Strong problem-solving mindset for diagnosing and resolving complex electrical/automation issues.

Responsibilities

• Customer facing electrical device operations and troubleshooting.
• Tour electrical room and identify abnormal conditions.
• Perform routine 6S inspection.
• Minor preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Update activities in an equipment management system for work performed.
• Inspect electrical systems and components for hazards and NEC/NFPA70E compliance.
• Work from ladders and in cleanrooms to install, maintain, or repair wiring and equipment.
• Troubleshoot relays, VFDs, motor control centers and drives.
