Job summary

Gpac is recruiting for a Senior Electrical Estimator on behalf of a local electrical contractor in the Boston area. The role focuses on leading the estimating process for large commercial, industrial, and institutional projects, with emphasis on accuracy in take-offs and bid development.

The position requires 7+ years of experience, proficiency with estimating software (Accubid, McCormick, Conest), and strong leadership capabilities to mentor junior staff and collaborate with project teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of electrical estimating experience for an electrical contractor.
• Experience estimating commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
• Leadership or senior estimating experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the estimating process for large-scale commercial, industrial, and institutional electrical projects.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and scope to develop comprehensive and competitive bids.
• Conduct detailed take-offs, ensuring accurate material and labor cost estimates.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Analyze historical cost data and supplier pricing to improve estimating accuracy.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and job site walkthroughs to verify project conditions.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to secure competitive pricing.
• Oversee junior estimators, providing mentorship and technical guidance.
• Collaborate on value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs and efficiency.
• Ensure all estimates comply with company standards, industry regulations, and contract requirements.
