Job summary

Prime Electric in Washington, DC is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for diverse projects including large commercial, industrial, and healthcare facilities. You will read plans, guide junior estimators, and ensure accuracy.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 5–7 years estimating experience, proficiency with Accubid and LiveCount, and strong knowledge of NEC and codes. On-site work with some travel and a collaborative team culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5–7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience evaluating and estimating design/build contract work
• Ability to review BOMs of subcontractors, suppliers, and material quotes; determine completeness & compliance
• Ability to train and educate others on estimating procedures and software
• Ability to quickly evaluate and estimate VE solutions
• Advanced knowledge of NEC, codes, construction methods and electrical materials

Responsibilities

• Produce precise electrical estimates for large commercial, industrial, high-tech, vertical high rise, healthcare facilities
• Lead Jr. Estimators, assign tasks, set timelines, review for accuracy
• Read and interpret civil, architectural, mechanical plans relative to electrical scope
• Develop project take-offs and equipment counts
• Utilize Accubid, LiveCount and BlueBeam for budgets and estimates
• Contribute to value engineering and training of interns/estimators
