Job summary

Hunt Electric in Minnesota is seeking an experienced Estimator 3/Sr. Estimator to lead electrical estimates for mission critical projects, including material and subcontractor quotations.

You will interpret multi-discipline drawings, run kickoff and bid reviews, mentor junior estimators, and collaborate with the BD team to shape bid strategy while ensuring accuracy and timely completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two-year degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of electrical conceptual estimating, low voltage estimating, NEC requirements, and design/build estimating.
• Experience training and mentoring Estimator I and Estimator II preferred.
• Strong estimating software skills; Accubid or Enterprise a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Bluebeam for estimating and construction tasks.
• Strong mathematical and Microsoft Excel skills (mandatory).
• Competent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication; presentation skills desirable.
• Ability to multi-task and work autonomously or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Accurately interpret design drawings and specs from all disciplines.
• Schedule and participate in estimating kickoff meetings.
• Lead bid reviews with the Estimating Team.
• Prepare quotations of materials and subcontracts.
• Develop scopes of work and bid leveling documents.
• Collaborate with Business Development to shape bid strategy.
• Verify and maintain detailed records of estimate revisions and supporting documents.
• Facilitate communication with Sales, Preconstruction, Designers and Project Managers.
