Position Summary

The Senior Electrical Estimator is responsible for leading the preparation of competitive, accurate estimates for electrical systems on commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects. This role provides technical expertise, market knowledge and cost leadership to deliver winning proposals while ensuring profitability.

Senior Electrical Estimator Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, low-voltage and control systems.
• Interpret electrical drawings, specifications and scope documents.
• Evaluate labour, material and subcontractor costs using standard productivity rates.
• Solicit and analyse vendor and subcontractor proposals.
• Participate in design‑build and value‑engineering processes.
• Conduct quantity take‑offs using digital estimating tools.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to align scope and budgets.
• Maintain current knowledge of electrical codes and industry standards.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior estimating staff.

Senior Electrical Estimator Qualifications

• 10+ years of estimating experience in electrical contracting.
