Job summary

Cumming Group in Boise, ID is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to join our cost management team on a large semiconductor client project. You will lead early estimating efforts, shaping budgets and advising on cost decisions.

You have 5+ years in electrical cost and commercial management or quantity surveying, with the ability to read electrical drawings and perform value analysis. Cleanroom PPE awareness and site validation experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in Electrical Cost & Commercial Management or Quantity Surveying.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings.
  • On-site validation of install work and remeasurement using pre-approved rates.
  • Willingness to wear cleanroom PPE as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform workload and team management including QA/QC and task management.
  • Reconcile invoices and change orders with GC, subcontractors, and 3rd parties.
  • Provide bid analysis and post-contract support.
  • Mentor estimating technicians and train in divisions and construction technology.
  • Develop project plans and provide needed reports to senior management.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Estimator to join our team in Boise, ID. You will be supporting a large semi-conductor client on a variety of projects, with a focus on tool install. This role is ideal for an electrical estimating professional with strong conceptual estimating experience who enjoys being involved early in project development, shaping budgets, and influencing key cost decisions from the outset.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform workload and team management such as QA/QC, fee proposals, and task management.
  • Reconcile invoices and change orders with GC, sub-contractors, and 3rd parties.
  • Perform Value Analysis.
  • Develop and nurture client relationships to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Support senior management by providing needed reports and responding to inquiries for information.
  • Mentor estimating technicians, estimators and train in understanding divisions and construction technology.
  • Prepare project plans.
  • Provide bid analysis and post contract support.
  • Participate in peer review process.
  • Undertake Risk and Value management evaluations.
  • Understand project controls and stakeholders’ requirements.
  • Participate in industry events and demonstrate an understanding of the local market.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Possess a working knowledge of the different roles and services Cumming provides and how the cost management team fits in the project.
  • Ability to read and interpret various documents such as Arch, Civil, Structural, MEP, Geotech, Site Logistics, and Schedules.
  • Ability to communicate with various stakeholders, internal and external to the company.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work efficiently.
  • Ability to perform at high levels in a fast paced, ever-changing work environment.
  • Ability to understand contracts and specifications and review construction schedules.

Preferred Education And Experience
  • Education: BS in Construction, Cost & Commercial Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field
  • Experience: 5+ years in Electrical Cost & Commercial Management or Quantity Surveying with professional accreditation
  • Preferred Certification: Professional accreditation – MRICS, AssocRICS, CCP, CEP, CPE or equivalent
  • Ability to read electrical drawings
  • On site validation of install work, including remeasurement and negotiating final installed quantities using pre-approved rates
  • The job will require working in an active cleanroom. Candidates must be prepared to wear cleanroom PPE for parts of the work (coveralls, face masks, gloves, etc.)
  • Semi-conductor tool install experience preferred

The salary range for this full-time role is $104,600.00-$139,466.68 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
