Job summary

gpac represents a local Denver electrical contractor seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to lead the estimating process for large-scale commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.

You will review specs, perform detailed take-offs, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with PMs and field teams to deliver competitive bids and value engineering opportunities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of electrical estimating experience with an electrical contractor.
• Experience estimating commercial, industrial, and institutional projects.
• Proficiency with Accubid, McCormick, or Conest.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and cost control.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts with precision.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Stable work history and leadership or senior estimating experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the estimating process for large-scale commercial, industrial, and institutional electrical projects.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and scope to develop comprehensive and competitive bids.
• Conduct detailed take-offs, ensuring accurate material and labor cost estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure smooth execution.
• Analyze historical cost data and supplier pricing to improve estimating accuracy.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site walks to verify project conditions.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and clients for pricing.
• Oversee junior estimators with mentorship and guidance.
• Contribute to value engineering to optimize costs and efficiency.
• Ensure estimates comply with company standards, regulations, and contract requirements.
