Job summary

Black & Veatch seeks a lead electrical engineer to manage water-sector electrical projects in Overland Park, KS. You will supervise schedules, budgets, and staffing while guiding power distribution and plant electrical system design.

You’ll collaborate with clients, support business development, coordinate with utilities, and review supplier submittals. Experience in water/wastewater projects and familiarity with SKM/ETAP are valued.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent engineering experience.
• At least five years of related work experience.
• Active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer-of-record requirements.
• Experience in electrical design and construction preferred.
• Water/wastewater or consulting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medium- and low-voltage equipment preferred.
• Client-facing or business development experience preferred.
• Familiarity with power system analysis software such as SKM or ETAP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead water-sector electrical projects, managing schedules, budgets, and staffing.
• Provide technical guidance on power distribution and plant electrical systems.
• Consult with clients and support business development.
• Coordinate with utilities and review supplier submittals.
• Assist with construction inspection, issue resolution, equipment startup and testing.
