Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for Water/Wastewater in Las Vegas, NV. This staff role focuses on leading electrical design efforts across municipal and industrial facilities, coordinating with utilities, and guiding project teams through planning, design, and construction phases.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in power distribution, project leadership, and client engagement within water/wastewater sectors.

Qualifications

Preferred: 11 years in electrical design, planning and construction services.
Preferred: Consulting and Water/Wastewater experience.
Preferred: Experience with medium/low voltage power distribution equipment including VFDs and diesel generators.
Preferred: Client-facing/business development experience.
Power system analysis experience in SKM, ETAP or similar software is a plus.

Responsibilities

Build business relationships with clients to understand needs and drivers.
Develop solutions for complex engineering problems for existing client facilities.
Coordinate with local electrical utilities on project technical needs.
Perform construction inspection and resolve electrical construction issues.
Oversee startup and testing of major electrical equipment.
Lead projects including management of schedules, budgets, and staffing for the Water Solution team.
Provide technical guidance on client standards to engineering staff in regional centers.
Serve as technical expert in electrical power distribution and plant electrical systems.
