Job summary

Jacobs seeks a Sr. Electrical Professional Engineer to lead electrical design for water and wastewater projects. You will generate and review drawings, specs, and vendor submittals, applying NEC and NFPA codes while coordinating cross-discipline teams across multiple offices.

You'll mentor junior staff and manage several assignments, from planning studies to final design, with field visits and construction support. A PE license and multi-state eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
• PE license and ability to be licensed in multiple states (or within one year).
• Substantial years of experience in professional design of electrical systems for water projects.
• Low and medium voltage power distribution experience.
• Solid understanding of NEC and NFPA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and specification of electrical systems for water and wastewater facilities.
• Lead contract documents from planning to final design (plans, specs, estimates).
• Develop electrical systems including LV/MV distribution, lighting, emergency power, UPS, batteries.
• Apply electrical codes and industry standards in projects.
• Manage multiple assignments simultaneously and provide QA/QC on plans and estimates.
• Perform power system studies (load flow, short circuit, coordination, arc flash).
• Field visits and site investigations; support construction with submittals and RFI responses.
• Mentor junior staff and collaborate with multi-discipline teams across offices.
