Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer to serve as Engineer of Record on critical projects in the United States. You will lead and mentor a small team, manage scope, schedule, budget, and technical quality, and provide regular updates to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of electrical consulting or related engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; ability to obtain additional state PE licenses.
• Experience leading projects and managing technical teams.
• Strong client-facing consulting, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience with NEC, IEEE, NEMA, NFPA, Building Codes, IES, IECC, and ASHRAE standards.
• Experience with AGi32, SKM Power Tools, or equivalent software preferred.
• Medium Voltage experience preferred.
• Preferred certifications: ENV SP, PMP, LEED AP, DBIA, CESCP, CEM.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Lead Electrical Engineer and Engineer of Record on projects.
• Lead and mentor a team of 1–3 electrical engineers and designers.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and technical quality.
• Provide regular project status updates to team leadership.
• Coordinate with clients, electric utilities, contractors, construction managers, vendors, manufacturers, and regulatory agencies.
• Lead development of technical reports, construction documents, specifications, cost estimates, and permit applications.
• Conduct and support site visits, field investigations, and construction-phase services.
• Coordinate electrical designs across multidisciplinary engineering and architectural disciplines.
• Support proposal development and cultivate client relationships.
• Collaborate with geographically dispersed team members using virtual communication and collaboration tools.
• Promote quality, consistency, and continuous improvement across project deliverables.
