Rainmaker is advancing a modern cloud seeding system with UAS, sensors, and propulsion challenges. The engineering team collaborates across hardware and software to deliver impactful, flight-tested hardware solutions.

The role emphasizes system design, rapid prototyping, PCB work in Altium, and collaboration with mechanical and manufacturing teams to ensure robust, flight-ready hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of electronics industry experience.
• 4+ years PCB design experience with Altium.
• Proven track record leading hardware designs through manufacturing with DFM/DFT.
• Experience with embedded platforms and MCUs (Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson, STM32, ESP32, RP2040).
• Experience with high-speed digital design, power integrity, signal integrity, EMI/EMC.
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead technical reviews.
• Embedded programming experience (C++, C, Rust, Python) including board bring-up and driver development.
• Knowledge of sensors, interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN) and real-time control loops.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design of electrical systems for hardware platforms.
• Rapidly prototype hardware subsystems with iterative testing.
• Design schematics/PCB layouts for power, sensors, and communication modules.
• Board bring-up, debugging, and testing under flight conditions.
• Write technical documentation and fabrication/assembly data.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, research and manufacturing teams.
