Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer- Test Automation to design, develop, and integrate System Test Equipment for complex RF and Microwave products. Security clearance is required; U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

Onsite role in El Segundo with occasional travel to vendor locations. Responsibilities include hardware/software design support, validation and certification of special test equipment, data package creation for program reviews, and testing from baseband to millimeter wave

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design, development, and integration of System Test Equipment (STE) for complex electrical products, including test software development.
  • Experience with RF Test equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, scalar analyzers, signal generators, noise-figure meters, Data Acquisition Systems (DAQ), oscilloscopes, and/or power meters.
  • Experience with software tools such as C, C++, Visual C, MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, LabWindows/CVI, NI TestStand, or comparable platforms.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance post-start is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Support Hardware and Software design and equipment selections, develop Special Test Equipment (including validation & certification), conduct testing and integration, and see the product development through production & post-production technical support phases
  • Create and present technical data packages for program management during regularly scheduled meetings as well as various design reviews
  • Test high frequency circuits ranging from baseband to millimeter wave
  • This role requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, production-driven environment. Travel to vendor and subcontractor locations will be required on occasion.

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience in the design, testing, troubleshooting, and failure analysis of Microwave Integrated Circuits (MICs), Integrated Microwave Assemblies (IMAs), Radio Frequency Assemblies (RFAs), and/or RF Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) across L‑Band to Ku‑Band frequencies.
  • Familiarity with version control software such as Git
  • Ability to interpret customer requirements and translate them into test specifications.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot test equipment efficiently and accurately.
  • Experience in testing, troubleshooting, and failure analysis of RF/Microwave components, circuits, and products such as LNAs, Power Amplifiers, Phase-Locked-Loops (PLLs), Mixers, and/or Filters

The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD - 181,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
