Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Ability to analyze technical documentation and apply standards.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and support engineering standards for transmission, distribution, and substation systems.
• Provide technical guidance to teams to ensure safety, quality, reliability, and project objectives.
• Contribute to equipment specifications, design guides, and construction standards for 12 kV–345 kV.
• Support multiple disciplines including Overhead/Underground Distribution, Transmission Line Design, and Substation Equipment.
• Evaluate new technologies and best practices to improve standards and methodologies.
• Participate in site visits and incident reviews to identify root causes and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with AES Ohio and AES Indiana teams to standardize practices.
• Balance technical requirements with safety, cost, constructability, and long-term asset management.
• Develop and update construction standards and engineering drawings with drafting teams.
• Research and apply industry standards and manufacturer information for sound decisions.
