Job summary

Astrion seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide SETA support for Space Systems Command at Los Angeles Air Force Base. The role encompasses acquisition, integration, testing, launch, operations, sustainment, and modernization of space-based capabilities across multiple domains.

The candidate should have 5+ years in electrical/systems engineering, DoD acquisition experience, and be eligible for security clearance. Collaboration with government and industry partners is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, or Systems Engineering.
• At least 5 years of relevant electrical engineering, aerospace, space systems, defense, or systems engineering experience.
• Experience with electrical or electronic systems, spacecraft, payloads, ground systems, sensors, or mission-processing systems.
• Experience with requirements management, systems integration, verification/validation, and risk management.
• Knowledge of DoD acquisition practices and engineering processes.
• Strong technical writing and briefing skills; able to work independently.
• Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical and systems engineering support across the acquisition lifecycle.
• Analyze spacecraft, payloads, ground systems, and subsystems.
• Develop, decompose, validate, verify and trace requirements.
• Evaluate interfaces, baselines, and design documentation.
• Support system architecture, interface control, and trade studies.
• Review contractor engineering products and test plans.
• Support integration, test, launch, and on-orbit operations.
• Identify and mitigate risks and issues.
• Participate in design reviews and technical interchange meetings.
• Coordinate with government, contractor, and mission-partner organizations.
• Prepare assessments, risk docs, briefings, and acquisition documentation.
• Support reliability, cybersecurity, resiliency, and safety assessments.
• Contribute to schedule reviews and readiness assessments.
