Maverick Power is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced DC power systems for data centers, telecom, and renewable energy applications. You will drive high-efficiency solutions, mentor engineers, and own end-to-end project lifecycles.

Ideal candidate has 7+ years in DC power and a strong background in system integration, control, and energy storage technologies, with a focus on reliability and scalability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering; master's preferred.
• Minimum 7 years in DC power systems engineering with senior/lead experience.
• Proven ability to design deploy DC power systems for data centers/telecom/renewables.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, MATLAB, and PSpice.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of high-efficiency DC power systems (rectifiers, inverters, PDUs).
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Oversee end-to-end projects from requirements to testing and maintenance.
• Analyze and optimize systems for energy efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
• Diagnose and resolve complex power system issues with minimal downtime.
• Collaborate with vendors to select compatible power components.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design development and implementation of advanced DC power systems for critical infrastructure including data centers telecommunications and renewable energy applications The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering expertise in DC power distribution and a proven track record of delivering reliable efficient and scalable power solutions

Key Responsibilities

• System Design & Development Lead the design of high efficiency DC power systems including rectifiers inverters battery backup systems and power distribution units PDUs for mission critical applications
• Technical Leadership Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and cross functional teams ensuring compliance with industry standards eg IEEE UL NEC
• Project Management Oversee end to end project lifecycles from requirements gathering and system architecture to testing commissioning and maintenance
• Performance Optimization Analyze and optimize DC power systems for energy efficiency reliability and scalability integrating renewable energy sources where applicable
• Troubleshooting & Support Diagnose and resolve complex power system issues ensuring minimal downtime for critical operations
• Vendor Collaboration Work with suppliers to select and qualify power components ensuring cost effectiveness and compatibility with system requirements
• Documentation Create detailed technical documentation including schematics specifications and operational manuals
• Innovation Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in DC power systems contributing to R&D initiatives and patent filings as needed
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

• Education Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or related field; masters degree preferred
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in DC power systems engineering with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role
• Proven expertise in designing and deploying DC power systems for data centers telecom or renewable energy applications
• Proficiency in DC power system design tools eg AutoCAD Electrical MATLAB PSpice
• Deep knowledge of power electronics battery technologies eg lithium ion VRLA and energy storage systems
• Familiarity with control systems SCADA and BMS for power monitoring and management
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
• Ability to work in a fast paced collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications PE license or relevant certifications eg PMP Six Sigma preferred
• Experience with high voltage DC HVDC systems or microgrid integration
• Knowledge of renewable energy systems solar wind and their integration with DC power infrastructure
• Familiarity with cybersecurity standards for power systems

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift up to twenty five pounds at times

Work Environment

• May work in various settings at the Maverick Power facilities in offices in multiple shops and in commercial buildings Maintaining the same position or posture while performing tasks and sitting for prolonged periods
