Job summary

Stratus® is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and construction of major projects, providing expert technical guidance to project teams and serving as the firm’s subject matter expert.

The role requires strong leadership, mentorship, and the ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams. This position offers a hybrid work environment and opportunities to influence projects from inception through completion.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's or Master's in engineering.
• 10–15 years of experience in electrical engineering design and project management.
• Strong leadership and mentorship for guiding junior engineers.
• Ability to lead large-scale engineering projects and provide expert guidance.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of complex engineering projects with expert guidance.
• Provide leadership for multidisciplinary team of MEP engineers.
• Prepare drawings, calculations, and technical reports meeting standards.
• Serve as primary technical expert resolving design challenges.
• Mentor junior engineers to ensure technical excellence.
• Perform quality control reviews at milestones to ensure accuracy.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and consultants for system integration.
• Oversee construction administration including submittals and site visits.
• Participate in client meetings and presentations with technical input.
• Stay current with industry advancements and new materials.
• Provide input on business development, proposals and client presentations.
