Job summary

Dewberry Engineers Incorporated in Birmingham, AL is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our MEPS team. You will provide technical guidance on electrical design for healthcare and commercial projects and mentor junior staff.

You will coordinate with architectural, mechanical, structural disciplines and support project managers to meet client budgets. The role reports to the Electrical Discipline Manager and requires PE licensure or ability to obtain licensure.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or licensure via reciprocity within six months.
• Accomplished electrical engineer.
• 8+ years in design of power distribution, multi-building MV campus distribution, fault/load/arc-flash, lighting, life safety, telecom for healthcare/commercial.
• Experience managing multiple projects with technical oversight to meet contract specs and budget.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Well organized with good note taking.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and quality oversight on projects involving electrical engineering.
• Mentor staff and provide technical training.
• Help establish standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications for electrical discipline.
• Engineer of Record.
• Provide on-the-spot advice and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with all disciplines and outside consultants.
• Interface with code officials and contractors.
