Job summary

Randstad USA in Des Moines, IA is seeking an Electrical Engineer with a minimum of 4 years direct electrical engineering experience. The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or power modeling tools (ETAP/SKM) and a Bachelor's in engineering with a PE license or intent to obtain one.

Responsibilities include schematic and wiring design for protective relay panels, design review with subcontractors, cross-departmental technical support, and inspection/testing assistance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain one.
• Minimum 4 years of direct electrical engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Schematic & Wiring Design: Designing AC and DC schematics and wiring diagrams for protective relay panels and control enclosures used in high-voltage power generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
• Design & Sub-Contractor Review: Reviewing internal drawing packages to ensure they conform to high-quality industry standards, as well as reviewing sub-contractor designs for accuracy.
• Cross-Departmental Technical Support: Serving as a technical expert for customers, Project Managers, and the Fabrication/Shop department to ensure designs accurately meet customer specifications.
• Inspection & Testing Support: Inspecting physical products to verify they conform to design specs and collaborating directly with the functional testing team on the production floor as needed.
