Job summary

Black & Veatch seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer for Power Generation. The role leads projects, develops electrical drawings, performs advanced calculations, and collaborates with clients on-site to ensure successful execution. You will work with ETAP/SKM, AutoCAD, and BOM development, shaping critical power infrastructure.

The position emphasizes leadership, technical expertise, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams, with a flexible hybrid work arrangement after 90 days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing or equivalent experience in engineering work.
• Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
• Active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects, e.g., PE License in the United States.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search).

Responsibilities

• Function as project lead and technical expert, with possible management/administrative responsibilities on Conventional Power Generation Projects.
• Develop electrical drawings: one line and three line diagrams, motor schematics, wiring diagrams.
• Perform complex calculations: load flow, short circuit, arc flash analysis (ETAP or SKM).
• Develop electrical equipment specifications and Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Create man hour budgets and project schedules; attend on-site meetings and interface with clients.
• Extensively use Microsoft Office, ProjectWise, ETAP, and AutoCAD to view/manipulate drawings.
