Job summary

Corbin Consulting Engineers in Austin, TX is seeking a senior electrical engineer to lead multidisciplinary design efforts for technology, industrial, and life sciences clients. You will survey conditions, design power and low voltage systems, and collaborate with a team of engineers and designers.

The role emphasizes NEC proficiency, project leadership, and clear technical writing for specs, drawings, and testing documents; PE license is preferred and a strong commitment to quality and career

Qualifications

• BSEE or equivalent degree from an accredited university.
• 7+ years of independent designer/engineer experience.
• Experience with advanced technology and industrial clients preferred.
• PE license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engineering studies of power and low voltage systems to survey existing conditions, evaluate capacities, and make recommendations for corrections and upgrades.
• Design of electrical systems ranging from simple to complex, including power, lighting, distribution systems, heat trace, and equipment installation designs.
• Short circuit analysis, arc flash analysis, overcurrent protective device coordination and review of power quality and reliability.
• Low voltage system designs, including instrumentation and controls, telecommunications, life safety and security systems.
• Coordination with engineering team members across disciplines and direct interface with customers for design reviews.
• Technical writing for specifications, sequences of operations, testing documents and reports.
