Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Senior Specialist, Electrical Engineer- Motor Control and Servo Design in Salt Lake City, UT. The role focuses on brushless 3-phase motor drives, servo control, and robust hardware solutions across the full product lifecycle.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet power, thermal, EMI/EMC, reliability, and safety requirements, while supporting program milestones and production readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 6+ years in Electrical Engineering or related field; graduate degree with 4+ years preferred.
• In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of related experience considered.
• Experience with motor drive design and servo control systems a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design brushless 3-phase inverter and motor drive circuits for servo and motion control applications.
• Develop analog, digital, and power schematics for PCB design.
• Support full hardware development lifecycle from requirements to production.
• Perform first-article bring-up and debug in lab.
• Apply PID and lead-lag control to motor and servo designs.
• Develop encoder/resolver interfaces and feedback/control circuitry.
• Contribute to real-time control algorithm development.
