Qualifications

  • 5+ years of construction and/or engineering experience preferred.

JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into a high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work for innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. Joining the Advanced Facilities team means working on some of the most advanced construction projects nationwide, growing your career alongside a diverse team of industry professionals.


Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  1. Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company's safety and quality plans and culture, demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment.
  2. Completes entry-level and routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
  3. Learns to develop budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information using automated systems.
  4. Assists in reviewing mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction and completes systems analysis for projects.
  5. Learns to develop scopes of work for mechanical and electrical systems for bidding.
  6. Assists in bid analysis and subcontractor selection.
  7. Supports development of sequencing requirements and solutions to meet schedule needs.
  8. Gains knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality issues and develop constructability review reports.
  9. Performs job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met in a timely manner.
  10. Assists with shop drawing/submittal processes.
  11. Supports the commissioning process, including developing checklists and testing procedures.
  12. Promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion, ensuring non-discrimination policies are implemented.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Performs increasingly complex mechanical, electrical, and field activities.
  2. Develops and reviews estimates, recommends systems, and suggests value engineering.
  3. Coordinates scopes during bidding, develops sequencing, and provides scheduling input.
  4. Identifies quality issues and develops quality control programs.
  5. Develops pre-functional and functional testing procedures.
  6. Reviews and approves shop drawings.
  7. Generates and manages commissioning plans and documentation.
  8. Mentors less experienced team members.
  9. Creates innovative tools and solutions for process improvement.
  10. Supports diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform work accurately, completely, and timely.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and understanding of plans and specifications.
  • Knowledge of construction management methods.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural engineering, or related field (Required).
  • Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Experience
  • 5+ years of construction and/or engineering experience (Preferred).
Working Environment
  • Valid driver's license required.
