Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is required.
  • 5+ years of construction and/or engineering experience preferred.

JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work for innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects nationwide, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core

ME Engineer Family - Core

  • Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company's safety and quality plans and culture by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
  • Completes entry-level and routine mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
  • Learns how to develop budgetary M/E estimates, based on program and schematic design information using automated M/E estimating systems.
  • Assists in reviewing mechanical and electrical options during preconstruction and completes systems analysis for select projects.
  • Learns to develop mechanical and electrical scopes of work to coordinate during the bid process.
  • Assists in bid analysis and provides input during subcontractor selection.
  • Assists in developing sequencing requirements for various systems and provides solutions to meet schedule requirements.
  • Gains knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality issues and develop constructability review reports.
  • Learns to perform job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met, and work is completed in a timely manner.
  • Assists with shop drawing/submittal processes to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  • Assists with the commissioning process, including developing pre-functional checklists, testing procedures, and conducting functional testing.
  • Supports and promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion, understanding JE Dunn's non-discrimination policy and implementing it proactively.
Additional Core Responsibilities

In addition, this position will be responsible for:

  • Completing more complex mechanical, electrical, and field activities.
  • Developing budget estimates based on design information.
  • Reviewing options, completing systems analysis, and recommending the best systems.
  • Coordinating scopes of work during bidding and developing sequencing and scheduling inputs.
  • Reviewing design documents for quality issues and developing quality control programs.
  • Performing inspections to ensure quality and specifications are met.
  • Developing pre-functional checklists and verifying contractor performance.
  • Reviewing and approving shop drawings.
  • Generating and issuing the Commissioning Plan.
  • Verifying deficiencies are corrected and submitting documentation.
  • Mentoring less experienced colleagues.
  • Creating tools and solutions for process improvement.
  • Promoting diversity and inclusion policies within JE Dunn.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to work accurately, completely, and timely.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to read plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Developing proficiency in JE Dunn's M/E tools and software.
  • Knowledge of construction management methods.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships internally and externally.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, architectural engineering, or related field (Required).
  • Equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
Experience
  • 5+ years of construction and/or engineering experience (Preferred).
Working Environment
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
