Job summary

OceanaGold is seeking an experienced Superintendent - Electrical Engineer for Haile Gold Mine in Lancaster County, SC. You will own the Electrical Safety Management System, HV safety, and maintenance planning to reduce electrical risk across surface and underground operations.

Lead regulatory compliance, MSHA interactions, and the development of safety documentation while supporting maintenance teams with technical guidance and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of post-graduation engineering experience in electrical power systems.
• Three+ years in a mining, resources, heavy industrial, or high-hazard environment.
• Experience with NFPA 70E and NFPA 70B in electrical safety programs.
• Experience leading or contributing to electrical incident investigations.
• Ability to read electrical drawings including single-line diagrams and protection schemes.

Responsibilities

• Own, implement, and continuously improve the Electrical Safety Management System (ESMS).
• Lead audits, incidents investigations, and root-cause analyses for electrical safety.
• Coordinate arc flash studies and integrate results into procedures and PPE.
• Provide engineering support to maintenance teams for HV/LV systems and standards.
• Manage change proposals for electrical installations and modifications.
