Job summary

Ziehm Imaging - Orthoscan Inc. in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electronic system design for medical devices throughout the product lifecycle. You will handle schematic capture, PCB layout, prototyping, testing, and support through verification and production.

You will collaborate with Regulatory, QA, Manufacturing, and R&D, work with IEC60601-1, ISO13485, and related standards, and mentor junior engineers while championing best practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of directly related electrical engineering experience in medical devices or related industries.
• Proficiency in Altium (3+ years preferred) or similar EDA tools.
• Experience with regulatory and safety standards including IEC60601-1 4th edition and working with external test agencies.

Responsibilities

• Design and Develop Electronic Systems: Create and implement electronic systems including schematic capture, PCB layout, and prototyping.
• Embedded Software & Firmware Development: Write and maintain embedded firmware and control software to support device functionality.
• Prototype Construction and Testing: Build, test, and troubleshoot prototypes to validate design performance against IEC60601-1 safety standards.
• Product Validation and Verification: Execute product verification and validation activities per medical device standards.
• Documentation and Compliance: Prepare, review, and maintain electrical engineering documentation per ISO13485 and internal quality systems.
• Cross‑Functional Technical Development: Translate marketing requirements into engineering specs; collaborate with R&D, QA/RA, and manufacturing.
• Vendor and Supply Chain Coordination: Manage vendor relationships and component sourcing for timelines and budget.
• Engineering Process Leadership: Champion best practices and continuous improvement across the lifecycle.
