Job summary

CMTA, a Legence Company, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and coordination of electrical systems for high-performance buildings across healthcare, education, and commercial sectors. You’ll mentor staff, coordinate with clients and architects, and guide projects from concept through construction.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical or Architectural Engineering, 7+ years in MEP design, and proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering.
  • 7+ years of MEP design experience (Healthcare, K-12, Higher Ed, or Commercial).
  • PE license preferred.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and energy codes.
  • Excellent communication and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of electrical systems: power distribution, lighting, emergency power, UPS, fire alarms, security, communications, and renewable energy systems.
  • Oversee all project phases from design and documentation to bidding, construction, and commissioning.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, and engineers to ensure seamless integration and code compliance.
  • Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers.
  • Review submittals, conduct site visits, and support construction administration.
  • Contribute to project management and business development efforts.
  • Professionally stamp drawings, prepare affidavits, etc.
