Job summary

Williams is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to serve as a technical authority for electrical systems across assets in the United States. The role requires planning complex projects, leading cross-functional teams, and delivering compliant, reliable solutions.

The candidate will apply advanced knowledge to major projects, perform fault analysis, develop maintenance strategies, and mentor staff while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across multiple engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college; PE license preferred if using Engineering Technology.
  • Minimum eight years of multifaceted engineering experience in natural gas or petrochemical industries.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, maintenance programs, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex electrical engineering assignments requiring advanced experience and professional judgment.
  • Plan and execute work independently with substantial latitude for unreviewed technical decisions.
  • Serve as technical authority for electrical systems within assigned geographic areas and operating assets.
  • Apply specialized electrical engineering knowledge to major projects and operational initiatives.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, effective technical presentations to engineering, operations, and leadership audiences.
  • Anticipate internal and external customer needs and develop practical, compliant solutions.
  • Maintain awareness of applicable industry codes, standards, and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure compliance and meet training needs.
  • Champions electrical best practices, safety standards, and reliability-centered maintenance strategies.
  • Monitor and control project costs, schedules, and resource utilization.
  • Support outages and maintenance activities including testing of switchgear, VFDs, MCCs, transformers, breakers, grounding systems, protective relays, motors, UPS, generators, and power cables.
  • Support operation and maintenance of high-horsepower electrical infrastructure across systems.
