Job summary

DeBra-Kuempel, a leading MEP and construction services firm in Columbus, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead advanced electrical system design and provide technical guidance. You will collaborate with project managers, estimators, field staff and other disciplines on power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and control systems while mentoring junior engineers.

Role requires 40% local travel and on-site support in the Columbus office, with CQ continuing education and growth opportunities

Qualifications

10+ years of electrical engineering experience.
P.E. licensure in OH, KY, IN or ability to gain reciprocity.
Bachelor's degree in engineering.
Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu, Excel, Word & other Microsoft Office products.
Experience performing or supporting arc flash studies and infrared thermography inspections.
General knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems.
Experience using CAD programs like Revit, AutoCAD.
Ability to travel up to 40% locally, as well as consistent on-site support in the Columbus office.

Responsibilities

Evaluate information and analyze problems to develop effective solutions.
Serve as SME technical resource for electrical design, retrofits, repairs, and replacements.
Conduct field audits of electrical equipment to identify issues and recommend corrective actions.
Prepare engineered drawings, equipment selections and reports in a timely manner.
Maintain relationships with existing customers and develop new ones.
Collaborate with project managers, estimators, superintendents, and other engineering disciplines.
Develop relationships with customer organizations such as facility managers or purchasing agents.
Ensure continuing knowledge of products, codes, and design criteria (CE).
Follow up with project managers on the status of engineered work.
Relay prospective solutions to clients and internal managers with clear communication.
Incorporate feedback from clients during and after project completion.
Attend company meetings to discuss work, budgets, and plans.
