Job summary

BKV Group seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer in Dallas, TX, or Chicago, IL to provide senior technical leadership for electrical design across multifamily, commercial, and civic projects. You will guide design direction, mentor staff, and ensure NEC and energy-code compliance.

The role emphasizes collaboration with architects, structures, and MEP teams, overseeing calculations and documentation in Revit, and delivering high-quality deliverables through QA/QC reviews.

Qualifications

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Minimum of 10 years of focused electrical building systems design experience across commercial, multi-family, or civic projects.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Revit for electrical design and documentation.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, energy codes (ASHRAE/IECC), IBC, and local building codes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project design criteria and performance parameters for compliant, energy-efficient power, lighting, and life-safety systems.
• Execute and oversee electrical engineering calculations, models, and construction documents.
• Coordinate electrical design with architecture, structural, mechanical/plumbing, interior design, and PM teams.
• Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and assess field conditions during construction administration.
• Mentor project engineers, designers, and junior staff; guide design standards and QA/QC.
