Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for heavy industrial projects across power, chemical, metals, and oil & gas sectors. You will ensure deliverables meet standards, cost and schedule targets, and provide technical leadership on multi-project efforts.

The role requires a Bachelor's in electrical engineering, 8+ years in heavy industry, and a PE license; you will mentor staff, review controls, and liaise with clients and vendors on design and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with 8+ years of heavy industry design/construction experience.
• Professional Engineer license is required.
• Understanding of design codes and industry standards (ATEX, UL, IEEE, ASCE, ACI, AISC, IBC, NEC, NFPA).
• Strong interpersonal and cross-functional communication skills.
• Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word; intermediate Excel and Outlook.
• Possess (or ability to obtain) OSHA 30.

Responsibilities

• Manage the creation of electrical and control deliverables (single line diagrams, lighting plans, panel layout drawings, I/O lists).
• Review and advise on P&ID design as it relates to electrical and control items.
• Work with HMI, SCADA, DCS, PLCs, and ladder logic in modern and legacy systems.
• Provide technical oversight, mentorship, and peer review to engineering staff.
• Support construction or operating sites as needed.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, and professional development of team personnel.
• Monitor and report weekly on the status of current design projects.
• Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
