Job summary

Rocket Lab Robotics in Pasadena, CA is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer II to lead hardware development for robotics programs. You will drive end-to-end electronics design from requirements through prototyping, testing, and production, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on avionics hardware for ambitious space missions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years of electrical hardware design experience.
  • Experience developing blank-sheet design concepts.
  • Experience in PCBA design with FPGAs.
  • Experience in motor control applications.
  • Experience with analog signal chains.
  • Proficiency in circuit analyses using SPICE.
  • Proficiency with board bring-up and debug.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end hardware for robotics and motor control applications.
  • Drive architecture decisions for control algorithms; work with FPGA and Micro-Controller systems.
  • Develop PCBA requirements with other engineering disciplines; perform design verification testing and system integration testing.
  • Own environmental tests including EMI/EMC, TVAC, Shock, Vibe, etc.
  • Perform schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer.
  • Provide oversight and mentorship of support engineers.
  • Support manufacturing and root-cause investigations for units in test or on orbit.
