Job summary

Digi International in Hopkins, MN is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Wireless Design Services team. This hands-on role focuses on electrical hardware design for embedded products with wireless tech, taking designs from concept through verification, certification, and production release.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in commercial electronic product design, a degree in Electrical Engineering, and hands-on experience with PCB layout, circuits, and RF-enabled hardware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent/practical experience.
• 5+ years in commercial electronic product design.
• Experience taking hardware from concept to production.
• Hands-on hardware design cycle: schematic, PCB layout, testing.
• Experience with embedded hardware and wireless components.

Responsibilities

• Own the electrical design of embedded and wireless products from concept through production.
• Design circuits, select components, create schematics, and direct PCB layout.
• Build, bring up, test, troubleshoot, and improve electronic circuits with minimal oversight.
• Evaluate design tradeoffs for performance, reliability, power, cost, manufacturability.
• Collaborate with firmware, RF, software, mechanical, manufacturing, and project management teams.
• Lead hardware integration, verification, and certification activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive design quality.
