Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories seeks a highly skilled Electrical Engineer with expertise in high voltage (>600V) systems to join our dynamic team at the New Mexico site. You will work on Electrical Power Transmission & Distribution systems and coordinate power outages, maintenance, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities include developing project scopes, troubleshooting, and implementing preventative maintenance plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline plus five or more years of relevant experience.
• Experience with medium and/or high voltage transmission systems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance.
• Masters degree in Electrical Engineering is desirable.
• Experience coordinating power outages and familiarity with NESC/NEC/NFPA 70E.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed scope for electrical projects.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and power diagnostics using Dranetz.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans.
• Develop designs for maintenance and minor construction activities.
• Input into asset management for high voltage systems to ensure lifecycle management.
• Coordinate power outages and maintenance schedules with engineers and service providers.
• Ensure safe work practices and proper equipment maintenance procedures.
