Job summary

Northwood Space is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to own the non-RF electronics design for Prism, our 2.4-meter parabolic antenna. You will architect high-speed digital, power electronics, embedded control, and mixed-signal hardware, from concept through bring-up and production release.

You will design dense boards around FPGAs and MCUs, define clocking architectures, and develop robust power trees. The role requires lab bring-up, testing, and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years designing electronics hardware from schematic to bring-up.
• Hands-on design experience with FPGAs and/or microcontrollers.
• Board-level clocking and power distribution for complex digital systems.
• Schematic capture and multi-layer PCB layout proficiency.
• Knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC.

Responsibilities

• Own non-RF electronics design including high-speed digital, power, embedded, and mixed-signal circuits.
• Architect boards with FPGAs, microcontrollers, high-speed data converters, DDR memory, SerDes, and 10/100G Ethernet.
• Define clocking architectures: refs, distribution, jitter budgets, and synchronization.
• Design end-to-end power trees: input power, regulators, sequencing, monitoring, protection.
• Design mixed-signal interfaces between digital and analog/RF: ADC/DAC, control loops, telemetry.
• Drive schematic capture, PCB stack-ups, and layout of multi-layer boards with SI/PI and EMI.
• Lead bring-up and verification, lab testing, iterating for performance and manufacturability.
