Job summary

Amazon AWS Infrastructure Services seeks an experienced industrial engineer to drive design, construction and operation of mission critical facilities worldwide. You will define electrical basis, standardize data center designs, and collaborate with vendors to select equipment.

You will manage multiple projects across regions, translate goals into concrete specs, and help deliver high reliability at scale while balancing cost and sustainability.

Qualifications

• 4 years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
• 6 years of design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of equipment and facilities
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents

Responsibilities

• Produce clear and concise documentation such as detailed design specifications, drawings, white papers, wiring schematics and diagrams, and reports
• Understand and safeguard implementation of the Global Electrical Basis of Design by driving standardization in the data center electrical designs
• Development of strategic solutions, which meet or exceed our quality requirements and fall within our budgetary requirements
• Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests prior to, and during innovation and research and development projects
• Work with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify the appropriate electrical equipment
• Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical regions
