Job summary

Avance Consulting is seeking a highly motivated mid-to-senior level Professional Engineer to join our team of multi-disciplinary engineers. The engineer will conduct field investigations and perform failure/accident analyses for electrical and mechanical equipment across commercial, industrial, municipal, and residential facilities.

Responsibilities include documenting conditions, assessing design drawings, providing repair scope recommendations, communicating with clients and authorities,

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required.
• California Licensed Professional Engineer (or ability to obtain) is preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering experience in design or related fields.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience providing litigation support and expert testimony is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Document as-built conditions and damage to electrical systems and equipment.
• Perform cause and origin analyses using building codes and engineering principles.
• Evaluate design drawings and documentation.
• Provide electrical support for fire origin and cause assessments when needed.
• Communicate with clients, code officials and contractors; deliver detailed reports.
• Manage multiple projects and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Develop and retain client relationships; travel as required.
