Are you ready to electrify the transportation industry? We're looking for a passionate and innovative Electrical Design Engineer to help shape the future of electrified commercial vehicles. This is more than a job—it's your chance to collaborate with forward-thinking customers and help bring cutting-edge electrical components to life.
As a key member of our Electrification Engineering Team, you'll lead the design and validation of high-voltage (HV) electrical components—from battery energy storage systems to HV junction boxes, controllers, inverters, heaters, harnesses, and more. You’ll work hand-in-hand with customers, suppliers, and internal experts to accelerate the development and application of advanced electrification solutions.
What You’ll Do:
• Lead the design, development, and enhancement of electrical components and systems for electrified commercial vehicle applications, including energy storage units, controllers, and accessories.
• Utilize CAD and engineering software tools to execute a wide range of complex electrical design and analysis tasks.
• Collaborate closely with customers, engineers, and suppliers to evaluate new concepts, address technical challenges, and align on project objectives.
• Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including electrical system specifications, schematics, and layout drawings, to ensure installations meet all customer and industry standards.
• Perform detailed electrical calculations and analysis to define manufacturing and installation specifications that ensure product safety, reliability, and performance.
• Coordinate and oversee activities related to installation, manufacturing, testing, and quality assurance, ensuring all efforts comply with engineering standards and customer requirements.
• Compile and present detailed engineering reports, project data, and feasibility studies for both internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Prepare procurement specifications and support the selection and acquisition of electrical materials and equipment.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members.
• Contribute to budget planning through accurate estimation of materials, labor, and construction costs.
• Support the maintenance, calibration, and evaluation of electrical equipment to ensure peak operational performance.
• Work in tandem with a diverse team of technicians and cross-functional partners to execute project deliverables efficiently
What We're Looking For:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field; a master’s degree is a plus
• 5-8+ years proven, hands-on experience with electrical design and engineering calculation software tools
• In-depth understanding of electrical manufacturing processes and production methods
• Strong knowledge of applicable electrical engineering codes, regulations, and safety standards
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail
• Self-driven, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively
• Strong interpersonal abilities with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Collaborative team player with a proactive and adaptable mindset

Hours, Benefits & Compensation:
• Compensation Range: $150k - $180k, depending on experience and qualifications.

Location:
This position is on-site in Livermore, CA.
Travel: This job will require some travel to visit suppliers, customers, and CSI locations as needed.
