Job summary

VoltaGrid in Houston, TX is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design, analyze, and document electrical systems for microgrids, power distribution, and renewable energy equipment. Some on-site commissioning may be required.

Responsibilities include design/review of MV/LV power generation and microgrid systems; prepare short circuit, arc flash, grounding, load flow studies; perform ETAP transient studies; produce drawings, BOMs, and reports; support other departments.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5-10+ years of experience in electrical engineering.
• Minimum 2 years MV power generation system design.
• Knowledge of IEEE, NEC, NFPA, API codes and standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and review MV/LV power generation and microgrid systems.
• Prepare electrical documentation: short circuit, arc flash.
• Coordinate power system studies: grounding, load flow, harmonics, faults.
• Perform transient studies using ETAP.
• Prepare drawings, area classifications, BOMs and reports.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for electrical systems.
• Provide engineering support to other departments.
