Job summary

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to sustain engineering support for control systems and electronics used in Eaton’s medium voltage switchgear product line. You will design, analyze, verify, and drive cost-saving improvements across products and processes.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's in Electrical/Computer Engineering and at least 2 years' engineering experience, with residency within 50 miles of South Milwaukee, WI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum two (2) years of engineering experience.
• No relocation; candidates must reside within 50 miles of South Milwaukee, WI; active‑duty military exempt from geo rule.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain product designs, BOMs, drawings, and specifications for control systems and protective relays.
• Support new product introductions and engineering changes for existing products.
• Resolve production, manufacturing, and testing issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Partner with suppliers and Supplier Quality Engineers to evaluate capabilities, conduct assessments, and approve components.
• Investigate product quality and reliability issues; document findings and support customer communications.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Design for Six Sigma, DFM, and DFA methodologies.
• Perform engineering analyses and simulations using CAD, FEA, and other engineering tools.
• Coordinate product verification, validation, and reliability testing with internal and external laboratories.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve products, processes, and overall performance.
