Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking an Electrical Engineer - Buildings & Construction to join the Property Construction team in Pullman, WA. You will design, build, operate, and maintain electrical systems in large facilities and work with construction, operations, and maintenance teams to support thousands of employee owners.

Responsibilities include leading project scoping, planning, estimating, risk management, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer license with WA/ID within 6 months.
• Five years of experience managing building construction or related projects.
• Good knowledge of codes for commercial/industrial buildings.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and scheduling software.
• Excellent technical training skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain technical expertise in building electrical systems per NFPA, codes.
• Perform electrical load, distribution coordination, energy conservation, and lighting studies.
• Provide direction on project execution: scoping, planning, estimating, risk management.
• Consult with SEL EH&S for electrical safety compliance.
• Coordinate with facilities maintenance for equipment troubleshooting.
