Job summary

Bala Consulting Engineers in Boston, MA invites a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our on-site team and support building systems design across projects. The role requires 10+ years in electrical power distribution, fire alarm, lighting design, and familiarity with codes.

PE preferred; EIT required; LEED accreditation preferred. Proficiency with Revit is expected; strong communication and on-site survey skills are key.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 10+ years designing electrical power distribution and lighting.
• Experience with fire alarm and security systems.
• Familiarity with arc flash, short circuit analysis, and codes.
• PE preferred; EIT certification required.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Proficient with Revit design software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare calculations for feeders, services, short circuit, transformer size.
• Design building electrical distribution, fire alarm and security systems.
• Perform on-site surveys of existing electrical equipment.
• Determine schedules and details required for the project.
• Review with project engineer; attend job meetings.
• Ensure flow of information between disciplines.
• Assist in writing reports and feasibility studies.
• Prepare cost estimates and specifications.
