Job summary

AECOM in Northern California is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team. This is an in-person role with a hybrid schedule, focusing on building electrical systems design across markets and projects.

You will perform technical calculations, ensure code compliance, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with clients and other disciplines to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with 6+ years of related experience or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer (PE) Registration required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Electrical engineering from conceptual design through construction administration and post-occupancy including reports.
• Competent in building electrical systems design for various projects and markets.
• Write reports based on findings for internal and external purposes.
• Stay current on codes and technologies for power, lighting, telecoms and fire alarm systems.
• Research, design, specify and witness testing of electrical systems and components.
• Organize site visits for data collection and evaluation of electrical systems.
• Coordinate with client and disciplines, acting as electrical engineer point of contact.
• Assist in proposal preparation and discipline plans with senior leadership.
• Manage multiple projects and mentor team members.
• Ensure discipline plans meet project scope and schedule.
• Review team work for quality and training needs.
• Attend and present to owners, clients and architects as needed.
